Head of Property and Planning - Elise Armitage

A love of outdoor activities and the environment brought Elise Armitage to the north-east alpine region more than 12 years ago.

Elise began her career in alpine resorts at Falls Creek in 2011, since gaining a deep understanding of the importance our alpine regions and the careful management they require.

As ARV’s new Head of Property and Planning, Elise and her team will be responsible for all aspects of Crown Land management, including leasing, land release and planning scheme requirements across the resorts.

Elise will use her expertise to develop a strong framework for the alpine resorts, working with a team of property, leasing, and planning professionals, and will manage Traditional Owner Settlement Acts and Land rights.

“Our alpine resorts provide endless activities for outdoor lovers – our family is always rock climbing, mountain biking and trail running in the warmer months, and on the slopes skiing in winter,” Elise said.

“I see my role here as setting businesses at ARV’s resorts up for success and ensuring that we have the right mix of businesses to support tourism and hospitality on the mountains.”

Elise has three children, who all grew up at Falls Creek. Both Elise and her partner Jamie ski patrol in the winter months.

Elise says her role with ARV allows her to pursue her passion for the outdoors while helping drive strong policy and practice for business, government, and not-for-profit organisations.

She has extensive experience in Crown Land management, and has held previous management roles in the arts, tourism, and health industry, for both NSW and Victorian State Government and not-for-profit organisations.

“I feel a great honour to be working in a regional location with a diverse team and love the challenges that leading and managing staff and delivering business objectives requires.”

Elise is also a board member for Regional Development Australia’s Hume region.
