Opening weekend marked the official opening by Minister Dimopoulos of the Alpine Gateway at Mt Hotham.

The Gateway will serve as a visitor facility to enhance year-round access to outdoor activities on the mountain.

With a multi-level car park and strategically positioned at the Loch Car Park site, the Gateway provides direct ski field access and is fitted out with fully accessible amenities including lockers, showers, and heated communal areas.

The impressive day shelter also provides Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA) with a 20-square-meter storage and workshop area, along with a transfer room for intermediate-to-advanced sit skiers to enable them seamless access to the runs. These areas are additional to DWA's existing presence in Hotham Central.

Supported with funding by the Victorian Government, the facility will also be an ideal starting point for hitting Hotham’s fantastic network of walking trails in the warmer months, including acting as the new trailhead for the Falls to Hotham Alpine Crossing.
